The Indian National Security Council secretariat issued a notice to users after red-flagging 52 very popular Chinese apps worldwide for related security and security issues.
Maybe from the companies mentioned above, only Xiaomi seems familiar to you, but ByteDance is the company behind TikTok, and Tencent is nothing more and nothing less than the creator of WeChat (Chinese WhatsApp), in addition to being responsible for a large number of major mobile games like Call of Duty Mobile.
According to the Indian Security Agency, these companies and many other companies of Chinese origin are creating applications that can spy on users, which poses a serious problem for their security and privacy.
In the applications case, the Mi Community, Mi Store and Mi Video call-Xiaomi apps are being accused of being dangerous, however, it has not been mentioned whether there is any kind of malware or what kind of process is the one that made them spy on users.
Security services recommendations for users is to uninstall all these apps, while also asking the government to ban the use of these apps in the country to avoid more problems.
