Here's all you need to know about the new PlayStation 5 games platform from Sony:

The design:

Sony launched two models of the game console, the first is the flagship model named (PlayStation 5) which comes with a Blu-Ray 4K drive, and the second (PlayStation 5 digital edition) is smaller without a digital drive.

The digital model is the company's way to transform into a world without physical media, targeting players who download and play games via cloud services instead of buying games or movies on CD-based devices.

Both use USB-C charging for their controllers, and they can use a high-definition camera accessory, along with the new wireless headset and media remote, and they come in a zigzag design and a black and white plastic body with blue accent lighting which is far from (Black Box) designs that the company was previously known for.

Just like the Xbox Series X, the PlayStation 5 can be placed vertically or horizontally under the TV screen, with a stand that fits either way, at the top of the device we also find heat dissipation slots, with USB-A and USB-C ports on the front.

Specifications:

As for the specifications, Sony has previously revealed it, as it contains a dedicated version of the AMD Zen 2 eight-core processor at a frequency of 3.5 GHz, and a dedicated version of the AMD RDNA 2 graphics processor with a power of 10.28 teraflops.

The platform comes with 16 GB GDDR6 RAM, 825 GB SSD storage, as well as support for 4K and 8K gaming display at 120 fps, 3D audio support, and will support low power consumption mode to save energy In addition to compatibility with (PlayStation 4) platform games.

Joystick:

The new joystick is the biggest change in the design of joysticks in Sony's history spanning more than 25 years with PlayStation gaming platforms, from the first generation to the fourth generation, and contains some significant changes from the inside, such as: the new feedback technology that replaces technology Old (Rumble) to make reactions more realistic, and new adaptive buttons that can adjust button resistance to different gameplay effects.

In addition to a built-in microphone, it is the first for Sony's joysticks, and it allows players to chat easily with friends without a headphone, along with a USB-C port, the new dual-tone color scheme in style with PSVR, and a comprehensive revamped design that gives a more rounded look Knobs and face buttons.

Date of launch:

Sony has officially confirmed that the PlayStation 5 will be released globally (just in time for the 2020 holiday season), so it is possible that we will see the device on the market sometime between October and December of the year 2020, which puts it in direct competition with the Xbox Series X games from Microsoft, which will be launched at the same time.
